Amazing Spider-Man #583
The main story in the issue features Peter Parker going out on a series of blind dates. Even though Mark Waid is usually a great writer this story is very boring. The only reason this book sold any copies at all is due to the back up 5 page story featuring an assassination attempt by the Chameleon on President Obama. The resolution requires that the Chameleon has never seen basketball in his life and is pretty lame. The book earns 2 out of 5 Spider-Villains, but you should still Put It on the Stack. Since you can save it as a memento or flip it on ebay.

This is part one of the Last Rites storyline which presents a new take on some key moments in Batman’s history. This issue somehow ties into Final Crisis, the connection should become more apparent after issue 5 of FC is released. Alfred is supposedly behind the walk down memory lane and there are some great moments from some Silver Age stories that are highlighted here. There is also some comedy in the form of Alfred imagining what would have happened had another creature such as a snake or moth flown in the window instead of a Bat. Now onto some spoilers..
