Normally I save the critique portion for the end of the review , but this book is too good to hold back the praise. For everyone that was complaining that Final Crisis the main series made no sense, direct your eyes this way.

We start the final issue at the White House, where in a scene reminiscent of Watchmen, A man is holding a sign that says "The End Is Nigh". The President is being briefed on the red skies and other strange occurrences that have been happening. He asks to be left alone and the President reveals himself to be Superman. He then flies to meet this Earth’s Wonder Woman: Nubia. They find a craft that is breaking through the red skies and they comment that it contains heroes inside of it. The craft opens to reveal the Supermen of the Multiverse. Captain Marvel tells them that he is here to recruit the Supermen of the Multiverse on a misson of life or death. We then move to the JLA Watchtower where we see Power Girl, Starman and Frankenstein with dialogue that says that this is all that remains that is not Darkseid. It also talks of how the Metal Men from Earth 44 came through a dimension shard and went crazy from the magnetic field. We find out that the narrator for all of this is Lois Lane. She tells us that they are loading a rocket

Justice Society of America #22
The final chapter of the Gog saga ends rather abruptly as Superman-KC tears off his head and mounts him to the source wall. Then he heads back to his time and we get to see his world age all the way up to 1000 years in the future. OK issue but a really quick ending for Gog. 3 out of 5 JSA-ers.

Small week for DC so only a few quick fire reviews:
Justice Society of America #21
The Gog saga continues as the JSA learns his true purpose and the real price of asking Gog for help. Solid issue, but a little slower moving than the past couple of parts. 3 out of 5 JSAers.
Terra #3
Terra goes to the center of the Earth to return home and find help for Geo-Force. Ok Issue, always enjoy Conner’s artwork. 2 out of 5 Batmen.
November 28, 2008 in Comic Books, DC, JSA, News, Reviews, Spoiler, Superman, Teen Titans, Wonder Woman
Thought I would change it up this week. There will be a full review of one Marvel book and a full review of an indy book followed by their own quick fire reviews.
Birds of Prey #124
Cool Issue with some guest stars and an Oracle Joker confrontation that leaves the Crown Prince of Crime with a new "smile". 3 out of 5 Bat-Villains.
Justice Society of America The Kingdom #1
Another chapter in the saga of GOG and the 2 JSA teams. Moves a little slower than the past two parts, but the last page sets up a very interesting JSA issue next week. 3 out of 5 JSAers.
November 23, 2008 in Batman, Comic Books, DC, Fantastic Four, Marvel, Reviews, Robin, Secret Invasion, Supergirl, Superman
Looks like there will be a round 3 as well, maybe even a round 4.
Fantastic Four # 561
The Galactus Engine saves the future and Dr. Doom Kills the Invisible Woman, just not the one you think. 4 out of 5 FF-ers.
Iron Man Director of Shield #35 Secret Invasion
War Machine and The Crimson Dynamo demolish a bunch of Skrull ships. Lots of explosions. 2 out of 5 New Avengers.
Robin # 180 Battle for The Cowl
Red Robin is unmasked and Anarky reigns by the end of the issue. Solid Writing and Art. 4 out of 5 Batmen.
November 14, 2008 in Batman, DC, Marvel, Reviews, Superman, Wolverine
There may be some more later if there is time this weekend:
Amazing Spider-Man #577
Just a horribly ugly issue artwork wise. For a major book in the Marvel U to look like this is a shame.
Zero out of 5 Spider-Villains. Just like the Black Cat this issue is bad news.
Justice Society of America Kingdom Come Special : Superman #1
A simply stunning book artwork wise. Great origin on how Super-Man KC made it to Earth 1. 5 out of 5 Dark JLAers.

The New Krypton saga continues with some very interesting developments. Lex Luthor is recruited to General Lane’s program to try to decipher Brainiac’s files. The General is also behind the source of most of the action of this issue in the form of a newly unleashed Doomsday. Superman and Supergirl take the fight to Doomsday and they are then joined by about a dozen Kryptonians as they fight Doomsday to the moon. Once there they kill the monster. Meanwhile two disenfranchised Kryptonians decide that General Zod was right and they attempt to release him from the Phantom Zone only to be quickly defeated by the new Nightwing and Flamebird. Johns is quite possibly the best superhero writer in the business right now and this book is fun and action packed. Woods artwork is very detailed, especially his backgrounds. Overall this book gets 4 out of 5 Justice Leaguers.
