Astro Boy Movie Prequel #1 Early Review Spoiler Win An Advance Copy
Before I get to the review, I just wanted to let everyone have an opportunity to win a copy of this book before it comes out on May 13th. This contest is open worldwide and closes on May 3rd, so here are the three ways to enter to win: 1)Retweet this post and gain one entry 2) Comment on this post and gain one entry 3) Post a link to this post and gain one entry Maximum of 3 entries per person winner will be chosen at random from all who enter by May 3rd. Now on to the review
The book starts off with Astro Boy fighting a Monster with a drill for a nose and easily defeating him to the delight of the crowd. He then heads back to his father’s lab where he discovers that the city is on the verge of collapse due to seismic activity. He father sends him out at the next quake to save people, which he does and upon his return back , his father’s lab is sinking into the earth as the seismic activity has created a huge crack in the area. Astro Boy tries to smash his way down, only to bump his head and lose his memory. As he regains consciousness, he looks around the dark and sees a city that he heads for, as a dark figure lurks in the background stalking him. This was a quick and fun read, that gives you enough information on the origin of the character without becoming bogged down in details. The artwork is very clean and has an incredibly smooth flow to it. The coloring makes the book pop and the Ashley Wood cover is interesting to see as his style is one that is not normally associated with anime style. Overall this book earns 4 out of 5 stars and it is recommended that you Put It On The Stack. Do Not Forget to Enter to Win an Advance Copy of the Book.

Sounds like something my husband would love reading with my boys — please add my name to the draw!
I’m so looking forward to the Astro Boy movie. I’ve been a fan for a long time being introduced to the character by the dubbed into English cartoons of the 1980’s. I really loved it when Dark Horse finally was able to secure the rights to bring the original Manga comics and translate them into English for North American audiences. This comics looks like a good way to fill the void until the movie hits theaters.
Enter me please!
Saw the trailer when I worked at the movie theatre last week. Looks surprisingly good.
I have been a fan of Astro Boy since I first discovered Osamu Tezuka in the 90s. I have nearly all of the manga volumes, action figures. LOVE Astro Boy. I sincerely hope that the movie is great.

My boyfriend’s dad loves Astro Boy. He has been a fan since he was young. This would be awesome for him to have to reminisce about his younger years.
