We pick up the story with a montage of Batman and Talia Al Ghul the night that Damian was conceived and continuing with Batman vs Ras AL Ghul , Batman Vs a Shark saving Commisioner Gordon and more with Talia. We then cut away to Bruce Wayne in the back of the limo he was in last issue asking Alfred if he ever thought his life could have been more eventful.

We then see Dr. Bruce Wayne with Selina Kyle as she charms him and steals from him, as well as a glimpse of reality as Darkseid’s minions as they lament the fact that it seems Batman can sense that they are there. We are then back into the false memories as Bruce Wayne goes with Alfred to look for his dog in the old well by Wayne Manor. Bruce goes down the well and Alfred is waiting above it when Ace (the Wayne’s dog) knocks him into the well. Bruce discovers a dead body down there dressed as Robin. Back to the minions as they realize Batman is starting to fight back against the false memories. We then move to more real memories as we revisit Batman’s first encounters with Jason Todd and the decision to make him the new Robin. Then some cut scenes showing tension between Batman and Robin interspliced with his "death" at the hands of the Joker. We also see one panel from The Killing Joke where the Joker visits Barbara Gordon with his gun ready to cripple her. These raw emotions lead the Bat-clones to start clawing at themselves. Batman then in the dream world goes into a discussion with Alfred on how he knows that he is an imposter. Alfred/Lump then delves into even darker memories of Batman’s back being broken, fighting back from it vs Azrael, the destruction of Gotham during the earthquake, fighting Hush, and helping Tim Drake with the death of his father. Batman then demands that the Lump show himself and unleashes all his anguish on it, overloading him. This also causes the clones to fry out as they can not handle this. Batman then gives the Lump the option of living if he helps him escape, Batman promises he can help him, otherwise he says they both will die. We then get an epilogue of the RIP story showing Bruce Wayne alive in the cave talking about what happened to Dr. Hurt and showing him taking on the case of murder during Final Crisis. We end with Alfred monologuing about how there will be no place for evil to hide so long as Batman is around. Then it says follow the Dark Knight to his last adventure in Final Crisis #6. The past two issues have been great, the only thing missing is the complete final adventure which seems would have been better suited to finish in the Batman books rather than in Final Crisis. This is just a personal preference as FC appears to be too broad reaching to focus enough time on this important of a story. The artwork again is really nice especially in the  panels where previous stories are referenced. Overall this book gets 5 out of 5 Batmen.
